Occasionally, you may encounter an inactive Share with Crunchafi button when trying to connect to QuickBooks Desktop:

You can troubleshoot using the following steps:
Confirm that you are running Crunchafi (Strongbox) Connect on the same machine that you run QuickBooks Desktop on. If yes, proceed forward to step 2.
Close QuickBooks if it is currently open.
Uninstall Strongbox Connect following the steps in our Knowledge Base article How to Remove Crunchafi (Strongbox) Connect
Now reinstall Crunchafi (Strongbox) Connect
Navigate to the Downloads folder and
Right-click on the most recent Crunchafi (Strongbox) Connect version that you have downloaded.
Note: depending on the version of Windows, you may need to first select the Show More Options option when you first right-click
Reopen QuickBooks Desktop and your file
The Share with Crunchafi button should now be orange instead of gray, and you can make your first connection!
