How can we help you?

File Upload for Data Collection via Secure Link

Data Extraction’s enhanced file upload option converts uploaded financial reports into structured, standardized Excel outputs regardless of ERP or accounting system. If you received a secure URL from your firm or another user to share financial data from your system, follow the steps in this article to upload the relevant files to Data Extraction. This is helpful if your firm is using Data Extraction for auditing and analysis, but your accounting system is not compatible with our integration options.

    Before Continuing

The following applies to the file upload option as of May 2026:

    • We support the upload of Trial Balance (full-period or monthly) and Chart of Accounts reports
    • Files must be single currency
    • Files uploaded into Data Extraction must be in CSV or Excel format (i.e., .csv, .xls, or .xlxs)
    • This flow leverages AI only to map the uploaded files to classification categories and generate a structured workbook that follows our Common Data Model. You can check and confirm the classification mapping before producing the output
    • The shared URL expires after a certain number of days for security reasons. If the link becomes invalid, contact the firm user for another share link
    • You will be required to complete a verification step by entering a code sent to your email address
    • You must export the necessary files from your ERP or accounting system to continue with the instructions below
    Getting Started

      📝
      IMPORTANT REMINDER

The classification mapping is completed by AI based on the information available and it can make mistakes. It is important to closely review the confidence rating column and update any classifications where necessary. For example, you should always review any classifications flagged with a Low confidence rating and choose a different option, if applicable. Medium and High confidence ratings, however, may not require any action.
